I submitted the removal form but my details are still appearing in Google

It takes around 3 weeks for a removal to be processed by Google.

If this period has elapsed you are probably referring to a dynamic 'search results' page. The removal form won't work for these pages.

Why?

There are two types of page that Google indexes:

  1. a Company / Director page

  2. a Search Results page

A Company / Director page looks like this:

http://companycheck.co.uk/company/00445790/TESCO-PLC

A Search Results page looks like this:

https://companycheck.co.uk/search?term=tesco%20PLC

If it's the 2nd type of link that you're seeing in Google, please submit a ticket to our support team with the subject line 'search results link removal' and include the link appearing in Google - it looks like this:

Our webmaster will then instruct Google to remove this link. This is a manual process and takes around 3 weeks to take affect.

How to prevent the search results page re-appearing

Search results pages are created each time a search is performed on Company Check. Google finds these pages and indexes them.

By carrying out more searches on Company Check and actively searching for these links in Google, you are inadvertently creating more activity and relevance for these historical search links. To prevent these pages being created, the simplest solution is to stop searching for these results. Google will overwrite the index as the search histories automatically change.
