If you subscribed to a plan before September 1st 2015 the following changes will not affect you as long as your subscription remains active.
If you cancel your subscription and then resubscribe after Sep 2015, the subscription plans available to you will be as follows.
We have added two new subscription plans to accomodate a greater number of use-cases. The annual fee for the Lite plan is perfect for individuals and small businesses looking to check a handful of companies each year. The Enterprise plan has been introduced to suit larger businesses with high usage, or where multiple user licenses are required.
Subscriptions will be billed annually from September 1st. If you subscribed to monthly billing cycles before this date, you will continue be billed each month unless you cancel or upgrade, in which case you will need to choose one of the new plans.
From September 1st, the Pro plan will no longer include unlimited access to company and director reports. If you subscribed before September 2015 you will not be affected by this change unless you downgrade and resubscribe after this date.
The new limits are as follows (per year):
- Lite: 5 credit reports
- Pro: 100 credit reports
- Enterprise: Unlimited credit reports
Why the changes?
Until now, Company Check has offered two plans: Free and Pro.
Based on customer research we identified that a 'one size fits all' approach is not representative of the needs of our users as data requirements vary hugely from one customer to the next.
The Lite and Enterprise plans have been added alongside the Pro plan to provide flexibility for everyone - whether an individual, sole trader, SME or large corporation.
Multiple User Licenses
Due to popular demand for multi-user licenses, the Enterprise plan includes up to 5 user licenses. The Lite and Pro plan include a single user license that can be used on up to 3 devices.
Company Check is used by over 3 million people each month, making us the most-used online supplier of business data.
In recent months however, due to the open nature of the service, a small number of users have exploited the 'unlimited' offering in some cases accessing hundreds of thousands of credit reports in a single day. This kind of use is well outside of our single user license terms and on a large scale affects the performance of the website for our customers.
Our goal is to offer both our free and paying customers the fastest, most easy to use service on the web and we continuously invest in our systems to ensure they are as scalable and robust as possible. By introducing usage caps and device tracking on the new website, we aim to eradicate abuse of the system and improve the website for everyone.
We understand that an 'unlimited' offering is useful for many legitimate purposes - the new Enterprise plan accounts for this and (based on our market research) still offers the best value in the market place for this level of usage.
